Three steps before a sentence reaches you.
Only the source text
A planning step works out what the question needs, including the opposite case and any exception, and searches for each. The assistant is handed those passages from the eCFR and from CMS's own model documents. It is told nothing else about the policy.
Every statement cites a passage
Each line must name the passage it rests on. A line with no citation, or one that cites a passage it was not given, is withheld.
Every figure is matched
Numbers, dates, percentages and dollar amounts must appear in the cited passage. A line with a figure that does not match is withheld.
The check covers citations and figures. It cannot confirm that a paraphrase carries the same meaning as the passage, so read the source text beside any statement you plan to act on. CJR-X, TEAM and ASM come from 42 CFR part 512 in the eCFR. LEAD and ACCESS have no regulation text; their passages come from each model's Request for Applications, fact sheets and FAQ pages on cms.gov, cited by page. PDF tables can lose their layout when converted to text. This is an educational reference and is not legal, compliance or financial advice.
